My biggest problem with the fandom is that it has the frequent tendency to take itself too seriously. Sure the show can have it's moments of reflection and drama, but on the whole it's an unserious show. This is a problem for our demographic, as we are used to much more complicated plot lines than those presented with the show. To remedy this, our community has taken it up itself to create fiction that satisfies our desire for drama/bloodshed/action ect. This, however, creates a new problem altogether as My Little Pony fits very poorly with the genres I've mentioned earlier. The fiction that comes from these desires end up being forced and rather dumb and yet the garner huge fanbases on their own because there's this pervading logic throughout the fandom that everything that becomes ponyfied automatically becomes awesome. While I don't like telling people what they should and shouldn't like, I just wish people would take a step back and think about if their favorite pony related media is really all that great; and if they would enjoy it if it was anything but pony related.
